Hard Surface Vehicle Contest

Soooo... who wants to do a hard surface vehicle contest? It seems like a lot of people are already interested. It can be a car, helicopter, ship, plane, etc. Your entry doesn't necessarily have to be an existing car, but you must have blueprints. To enter, just post what vehicle you're planning on modeling; try not to choose a vehicle that someone has already posted. Include the make, model, year (or a brief description if it isn't an existing vehicle), and at least one picture. The final will include a wireframe and some beauty shots. The aim will be mainly towards high poly production level vehicles, but if you feel like creating an asset for games, then we can probably create another category.

Post a lot of WIP's! Tutorials or anything helpful would be awesome too. Don't be greedy! If anyone knows a better way to organize things so that the contest is separate from other entries, please let me know.

Also, if you don't like the blog title, post comments here to give me suggestions on a name! If no one suggests anything I'll change it to Nutty Dust Magic. So comment.

Animation Competition

I'm sure you guys have heard of this before but Animation Mentor has an animation competition that runs monthly for 11 seconds of animation to a sound clip that can either be done in 2d or 3d.

I've entered before and there are some D-holes that are rude but overall you get some good feedback, and if you win, you get a professional critique that's really in depth....well supposedly...but i hear mostly the AM kids win it.  But people don't win unless it's really good so at the very least it could be a good way to motivate yourself to get some work done?

Maybe even work together if someone is better at modeling than animating and share the result with each other.

If we all entered this, we could just have our own competition based on where our own ranks ended up too, and just use them for a data sample on who likes what, so the results are more objective.
